Every Tiny Fossils piece contains genuine Tyrannosaurus rex fossil recovered from the Hell Creek Formation in Montana and the Lance Formation in Wyoming — the beds that produced most of the T. rex specimens you've seen in museums.
We don't cut up specimens. Dig sites produce large quantities of broken fragments and scraps that museums have no interest in and researchers have no use for. Those fragments get sold, and they usually end up in a drawer. We'd rather they be held, rolled, and looked at.

Is it ethical to cut up a T. rex?

Yes and no, and it's worth being precise. It's fossilized T. rex bone. All fossils are remineralized, meaning the original organic bone is long gone and what remains is stone that preserved the bone's structure. Real T. rex, real fossil — chemically, rock.
Will I get a certificate of authenticity?
Yes, with every order. It documents chain of custody for that batch's fossil. Details vary between batches, since dates, locations, and parties differ per sourcing run.
What size are the dice?
Standard D&D dimensions — 16mm D6, 18mm D20, and so on.
Are they balanced?
For normal play, yes. The pulverized cast dice are the most consistent, since the fossil is mixed evenly through the resin before pouring. Carved solid dice occasionally need small fills where the fossil has natural cracks. Suspended-inclusion dice take the most work — the fragment has to sit at the center of mass. Roll one a thousand times and you'd eventually see a slight favor; in a normal game, you won't notice.
